River Dove (Marchington)

Lower Dove at Marchington with deep glides, tree-lined banks, and a history of big barbel, carp, and bream.

Back to waters

The Marchington stretch is quite wild, with tree-lined banks and sections that create eddies and slower margins. Depth varies from shallows at the lower end to deeper water upstream.

Historically noted for big barbel, it also holds carp and large bream. Members report regular catches of chub, pike, grayling, barbel, large trout, and dace.

Because of the fish present, lines lighter than 12lb are not recommended when targeting barbel.
